Multifort

The Multifort collection has been one of the cornerstones of MIDO since 1934, and to this day it retains its identity built on technical innovation and durability. The original models already featured automatic winding, antimagnetic properties, water resistance, and high shock resistance—making them exceptional timepieces for their time. Today’s generations continue this legacy with modern automatic movements known for their precision, reliability, and long service life.

Today, Multifort represents a collection of versatile everyday watches that combine robust construction with a distinctive design inspired by the iconic Harbour Bridge in Sydney. In 2023, the collection also reintroduced the TV-shaped case, originally created over 50 years ago, now updated with contemporary technical execution. The result is a range of timepieces that preserve their foundations in a modern interpretation.

Something more...

Thanks to the Multifort’s tremendous success, Mido could afford to hugely expand in 1934. The tough and reliable watches gained the Swiss brand access to numerous markets.

The massive increase in production triggered by the model, not only set the company on the road to recovery from the Great Depression but also led to a steady growth in profits. To this day the Multifort represents one of the brand’s most desired ranges, primarily for its strongly masculine look and appealing price starting at CZK 20,000.

Collection highlight

One of the main models in the collection today is the Multifort TV Big Date (M049.526.11.041.00) with its distinctive 39.2 × 40 mm case. The design is based on the historic “TV” shape, which Mido has reintroduced in a modern form, and is complemented by a striking dial featuring a large date window at the 12 o’clock position.
