Resistance
Tudor watches are renowned for their tough, resistant construction, both in sports and classic watches. For a Tudor watch, being waterproof to a depth of 100 m is considered the bare minimum. Then you can add in its increased resistance to shock and dust.
From the very beginning, Tudor put its money on robustness and endurance: Tudor watches have become the first choice of men in many demanding and potentially dangerous professions. The brands’ massive advertising campaign for Tudor Oyster Prince in 1953 helped establish its image: the watches featured in the campaign were exposed to extremely harsh conditions. A watch worn by a mine worker endured 252 hours of mining in a mine shaft, another one went for thousands of miles with a motor biker, and yet another weathered a month with its wearer working day after day in construction, doing the extremely demanding job of riveting.
Innovation
In recent years, Tudor’s precision craftmanship, its main asset since the brand’s foundation, has been paired with the innovative use of high-tech materials and processes.
In 2015, the brand earned itself a reputation as an innovator: this is when it brought out its first Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5612 with a non-magnetic silicon balance spring. Tudor’s quality ceramic bezels, made of zirconia, are so hard and resistant they must be worked with diamond tools. In the Fastrider Black Shield model Tudor was the first to present a monobloc case produced as a single piece using nothing but high-tech injected ceramics.
Iconic design
