Historiques

History enthusiasts will appreciate the Historiques collection which, with its contemporary reinterpretations, pays tribute to Vacheron Constantin’s rich and long history and its unique pieces that have secured the Manufacture a permanent place in the history of watchmaking.

Historiques timepieces are manufactured in strictly limited numbers. Some of the most famous watches from this collection are the American 1921, originally manufactured for the American market, and the Cornes de Vache, “Cow Horn”, since the lugs vaguely resemble cow horns.

Something more…

The 1950s were a golden age for Vacheron Constantin in terms of experimenting with case shapes. The Historiques Aronde 1954 model is a bold reinterpretation of the original Vacheron Constantin Aronde watch featuring a rectangular case that is unique within the current range. The name “Aronde”, an Old French word for swallow’s wings, refers to the extremely original double-rounded curve unfurling almost like wings along the case flanks.

Collection highlight

The Historique American 1921 has a 36.5 × 42.19 mm unconventional cushion shaped case made of pink gold. The timepiece features the American 1921’s distinctive off-centred crown between 1 and 2 o’clock and a diagonal read-off. This highly distinctive display was achieved by a 45-degree counter-clockwise rotation of the movement and makes it very easy to read the time. The Arabic numerals evoke the ambiance of the boldness of the 1920s when the American 1921 was first launched. The watch comes with a red Mississippiensis alligator leather strap.
