Pasha de Cartier

At last, after a hiatus of more than a decade, we are to witness the revival of the illustrious Pasha model which caused a sensation upon its launch in 1985, instantly propelling it to deserved iconic status.
The beautiful design, skilfully wedding a thick, round bezel with a square, minute railway track in the dial’s centre, features a date aperture at four o’ clock. Yet more intriguing is the spinel or sapphire cabochon-capped protector over the crown attached to a small chain – appropriately named a chain crown – which can be unscrewed. Hidden underneath it is yet another small gemstone, which is part of the actual crown used for winding. Pretty spectacular, isn’t it?

Set to be unveiled in the autumn of 2020, the watch comes in two case sizes – 35 and 41 mm. Naturally, some of the women’s versions in rose gold come with diamond bezels whilst the white-gold women’s models even have full pavé – with both the dial and bracelet paved with brilliant-cut diamonds.
Purist steel variants, on the other hand, make for a decidedly more austere look. Most reminiscent of the original 1980s design is the yellow-gold men’s watch which now additionally features a date window. Cartier’s watchmakers have also designed a breath-taking 41-mm skeletonised steel version as well as a gold model featuring a tourbillon. All the collection’s watches are equipped with a reliable mechanical movement.

Something more...

The chain crown is not a simple adornment, it also fulfils another aesthetic purpose. When unscrewed, you will notice that hidden underneath is a small metal plaque on the caseband. This is an ideal place to have your initials engraved – a little secret that personalises your watch. Another fascinating feature is Cartier’s singular QuickSwitch technology which allows you to easily and quickly replace your bracelet with a leather strap without using any special tools. Thus, you can instantly change the style of your watch in line with your mood and situation. Metal bracelets turn your watch into a beautiful piece of jewellery while leather straps can match the colour of your outfit.

Accompanying QuickSwitch is the patented SmartLink system which enables you to easily adjust the bracelet’s length, likewise without the need for any specialist tools. It features push-buttons on every link that release the fixing bar to let you add or remove metal links on the bracelet.

Collection highlight

The new collection appeals to anyone who desires an original watch that exudes Cartier’s singular, intrinsic style. A clear favourite in the women’s size is the model featuring a sparkling diamond bezel. It acts like a powerful magnet on your wrist that cannot help but grab attention. However, the versions without any diamonds also don’t leave anyone in doubt about their wearer’s exquisite taste.

The yellow-gold models have gained a many aficionados amongst men, but attracting the greatest interest among both men and women is the steel watch featuring an engraved 3D dial, four distinct Arabic numerals and beautiful blued hands.
