It will be as light as a jolly balloon on your wrist... The Ballon Bleu de Cartier series has been one of the most popular lines since it was brought out in 2007. Women’s versions of this watch, in steel, gold or a combination, are one of the ageless evergreens of the world of horology. The quartz movement is hidden in the smallest of cases, just 28 mm, the medium models (33, 36 and 37 mm) have a handy automatic mechanical winding. Models with a 39, 40 or 42mm gold case not only look majestic but are unisex to boot, whilst the 44mm chronograph is intended solely for men.

The women’s part of the collection alone includes almost a hundred models. They have various dial colours, with the more traditional being white with black Roman numerals and a guilloche centre. The watch looks best if it can boast a diamond bezel or another decoration set in brilliants

The crown is decorated with a large diamond that dominates at four o’ clock. This watch collection belongs to those we like to call bejewelled. Its decoration ranges from the subtle to the rich, where a diamond bezel highlights the dominant solitary diamond. The top of the range timepieces have a gold bracelet studded with diamonds.
